eXo Platform

eXo Platform is a collaborative working environment and content management software suite for companies based on an innovative web portal solution enabling workstations to be visualised thanks to an advanced WebOS interface.

eXo Platform is a company portal that can highly be personalised and offers an electronic document management solution.  

 

The product can be broken down into several layers, meaning that it can be easily personalised and remains easily interoperable with other products.

• Collaborative working environment: makes shared tools available –  contacts, calendar, forum etc.
• Electronic content management (ECM): takes care of the entire presentation and administration of content management.
• WebOS: an operating system in the browser: makes a window display available, just like a traditional work station.
• Portal: takes care of everything specific to a company portal.
• Java Content Repository: creates an abstraction to manipulate all the data in the platform.
• Portlet Container: manages the display of server applications (a bit like the window manager on a workstation). eXo Platform respects the various specifications on Portlets.
• SOA: provides services (SOA for service-oriented architecture), notably the WebDav service which enables eXo Platform to be used like a directory of your workstation.

From a technological point of view, eXo Platform is at the cutting edge of J2EE standards and architecture.
